Two traffic brigade jawans terminated for harassing motorcycle rider

Surat. Traffic Police terminated two traffic brigade jawans on Saturday after a video of both jawans harassint a motorcycle rider went viral on social media. Traffic Police department is yet to take action against the personnel, who was in-charge of both traffic brigade jawans.

Deputy Commissioner of Traffic of Surat Police, Prashant Sumbe, issued a press statement on Saturday evening, stating termination of traffic brigade jawans Arun Senva and Ajay Shinde. DCP Sumbe said that inquiry was ordered and based on the report, action has been initiated against both jawans.

Officials of city traffic police were unable to share details about the traffic police personnel under whose supervision the two jawans were working.

In the viral video which is believed to be of the Sahara Darwaja area one TRB jawan is seen removing the key of a motorcycle during an argument with the rider. Later the jawan pushed the motorcycle rider off the vehicle and took possession of the two wheeler.

According to city traffic police rules the TRB jawans can only manage traffic and is not authorized to stop vehicles for checking or any other actions.
