Extending support to the bandh called by CAIT; no transportation booking will be done

SURAT

Surat Textile Goods Transport Association have extended their support to the nation-wide strike on February 26 called by the Confederation of All India Traders’ (CAIT) against irregular rules in the GST Law. They are against the new law of e-way bills, in which trucks have to travel 200kms in 24 hours or the bill would be cancelled.

In a statement released by the chairman of the Surat Textile Goods Transport Association, Yuvraj Deshle, said that on February 26, any kind of textile booking of goods will not be done by the transporters. Also, loading-unloading and delivery operations will be stopped. They have also informed that all transporters’ offices and warehouses will be locked.

The transporter association is unhappy about this provision in GST. They are saying that the GST laws are becoming difficult with each passing day. The basic form of GST has been distorted by the council and has become a failed tax system for the taxpayers in general.
