On the occasion of International Women’s Day, an event by MMA Charitable Trust, saw more than 200 women achievers being felicitated for their outstanding work during pandemic

SURAT

With the outbreak of Covid-19 causing the country to go into a lockdown and many been displaced. During this difficult time, the nation witnessed many individuals coming together to support communities through various outreach programmes. To acknowledge and honour this, MMA Charitable Trust organised Stree Conclave 2021 in Surat on March 6.
Women Corona warrior from all walks of life, including policewomen, doctors, fashion designers, social workers among others, were felicitated on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
Celebrating the spirit of women, the occasion saw the chief guests Dr Aditi Govtrikar (Actress), Vidhi Choudhary (DCP, Surat), Sangita Patil (MLA Surat) and Dr Gayatri Jariwala (Asst .Commissioner, SMC). It was attended by more than 200 women achievers.
“I wish everyone a happy women’s day in advance. Every women and girl should be encouraged in all aspects of her life. People from all walks of life have contributed in the battle against Covid-19 across the country. Surat, being no exception, has witnessed doctors, nurses, and other Corona warriors who led the fight against the pandemic from the frontline. These brave women came forward at a time when it was most needed is commendable,” said Dr Aditi Govtrikar.
“Ahead of Women’s Day, we felicitated women achievers from diverse fields for what they do best. Stree Conclave is platform which acknowledges the hard work a woman has to do. It was an honour for us to felicitate the frontline staff for their outstanding teamwork in times of crisis,” said Hemma Desai, Founder, MMA Charitable Trust.
