Special police squad nabs many for committing fraud and duping people

After receiving complaints that some unscrupulous elements are duping customers in the textile market almost every day, the Surat Commissioner of police has formed a special squad, which has nabbed culprits for committing fraud.

Some of the culprits were in police’s wanted list for many years but were not caught earlier. In last one week, the squad has arrested many culprits and handed them over to concern police stations.

According to the sources, the squad under the direction of Police Commissioner Ajay Tomar, has done a commendable job. Police SI CH Panara arrested the accused Shankar Vikaram Mali, who was on the run and now is in Salabatpura police station. Police had received an information that a resident of Rajasthan, Mali, comes to worship a Shiva temple in Rajasthan every day. On this tip off, he was arrested.

In another case, a history-sheeter Ravi Shankar Joshi, who drives travel cabs from Ambaji to Mount Abu was arrested on one of his trips to Mount Abu.

Since this squad was formed, the Zone-2 has so far arrested many wanted criminals including notorious accused of Ringroad cloth market Surendra Sharma, Shankar, Lalchand Tawri, Nandu Dayma and history-sheeter Ganpat.
