With the resurgence of Covid-19 cases in several states, Surat Metropolitan Municipality Commissioner, Banchananidhi Pani chaired a review meeting on Wednesday with the representatives South Gujarat Textile Traders Association along with members of Federation of Surat Textile Traders Association (FOSTTA).

During the meeting, the commissioner issued new guidelines for the vaccination drive to be organised for market association, traders and agents.

From March 1, the Corona vaccination drive will be initiated by the Surat Municipal Corporation, in which the vaccine will be administered to people above 50 years of age and also to the patients suffering from diabetes and high blood pressure.

For getting the vaccine, all the market associations have to give a list of patients who are above 50 years, high blood pressure, diabetes patients to the SMC. Only registered people would be vaccinated.

The guideline also mandated a negative RT-PCR certificate that is not older than 72 hours for traders arriving in Surat. Traders are advised to follow social distancing norms and wear mask at all time.
