The Gujarat government has announced new night curfew in eight cities. At the same time, the guidelines which were issued earlier for the operation of the industry and business has been revised and it has been extended till May 12.
In these circumstances, it is very difficult for the wholesale market to continue the textile supply chain.
The president of SGCCI, Dinesh Navadia said that he has appraised about the situation to the state BJP chief CR Patil, state health minister, Kishore Kumar and MLAs Harsh Sanghvi, VD Jhalawadia, Kanti Balar and Praveen Ghoghari. It was decided after the meeting to form a Chamber’s textile Task Force. The chamber has requested the government to take appropriate action on the whole situation.
In addition, the Surat police commissioner, Ajay Tomar has also been informed in writing about the decision taken by the textile task force and also about the new odd-even formula for the textile market. The commissioner is yet to decide on the above.
