The BJP worker was arrested for posting comments on the social media against the BJP chief
Enraged by the BJP worker’s alleged objectionable post on Facebook for not getting the necessary injections for COVID-19 treatment, the police had registered a case against accused Mitesh Vasi under various sections and was arrested. A 12-day remand was also sought from the court, but the court granted the remand only till 12pm on Tuesday, following the plea of the accused’s lawyer Zamir Sheikh.
After the completion of the remand period, the police again presented the accused before the court for additional five days, which Sheikh opposed and the court rejected the remand petition. Later, a bail petition was filed and was granted by the court on furnishing bail bond in a sum of Rs 25,000. It is to be noted, that after the arrest of Vasi, many party workers had also resigned from the party, and also made the high command aware of the matter, which could have an impact in the local politics of the coming days.
