Surat: Hindustan Scouts and Guides organised “Swami Karmi Greetings” program which was sponsored by Ideal Image Trust. The program was held at Wedrod Garbage Collection Center.

The speaker of the event was Dharmesh Shah (Co-Minister, HSGA, Gujarat) who said that, “On occasion of Gandhi Jayanti and Lal Bahadur Shastri’s birthday, it is a duty of the people of Surat to express gratitude towards “Safai Karmis”, who are the foot soldiers of the Swachh Bharat Initiative. Without them, the campaign would be a failure.” He further mentioned that without the help of Safai Karmis, Surat would never have been able to feature as the second cleanest city in India.

The event was organised on the ideals set by Gandhi and Shastri, who advocated cleanliness campaign and gave the slogan “Jai Jawan-Jai Kisan”. All the workers were greeted with a rose along with masks and sanitizers bearing in mind their health.

Vipul Jariwala, Bhavesh Ojha, Shyam Mishra, Pradyumna Jariwala, Kiran Ghoghari (Senate-Syndicate Member, VNSGU) and Piyush Desai were among the dignitaries present in the program.
