Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched an attack over Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s statement on the Ladakh situation
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched an attack over Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s statement on the Ladakh situation and said Modi government has handed over a piece of Indian territory to China and the Opposition was not allowed to question it.
“Yesterday, defence minister made a statement. The Indian government’s position at the beginning of this was status quo ante, that is what the government was negotiating for. Now, sheepishly, the defence minister makes a statement saying we are now going to be positioned at Finger 3. But the position of India is Finger 4 and we have to be there,” said Rahul Gandhi on Friday.
Rahul Gandhi further asked, why have the Indian troops been asked to move back. “Narendra Modi has hand over the ‘Bharat Mata ka tukda’ to China,” said Rahul Gandhi, attacking the Modi government.
“The PM is a coward who cannot stand up to the Chinese. He is spitting on the sacrifice of our army. He is betraying the sacrifice of our army. Nobody in India should be allowed to do it,” said Rahul Gandhi.
Rahul Gandhi was reacting to Rajnath Singh’s statement on the current situation in Ladakh in which he said that India and China have reached an agreement on disengagement in the North and South banks of Pangong lake in eastern Ladakh that mandates both sides to “cease” forward deployment of troops in a “phased, coordinated and verifiable” manner.
