A three-member panel will conduct two rounds of interrogation of ex-Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh and likely produce its observations before the Bombay High Court
The Maharashtra government has set up a 3-member committee led by a senior IAS officer to hold an inquiry against former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh.
The move comes after acting DGP Sanjay Pandey recused himself from interrogating Param Bir Singh. The former top cop had alleged and also produced phone recordings wherein Pandey had offered to mediate between him and the Maharashtra government.
Singh had approached the Bombay High Court and the matter will be heard today. Two rounds of interrogations will be held before that and the state government is expected to produce the outcomes of these interrogations.
