As cinema halls prepare to open up in India, after the novel coronavirus-induced halt, several Hollywood flicks are pushing the release dates. The latest in this is Universal Studios’ Jurassic: World Dominion, which will not hit the theatre in July 2021
Universal Studios came this decision to protect one of their biggest release from the pandemic or what is being touted as the post-pandemic disorder. Jurassic: World Dominion was slated to release in July 2021.
The same report clarifies that this new development has nothing to do with the production of the film. The film team will wrap up their UK schedule in another three weeks as per plan. But would still prefer waiting for another 1.5 years before releasing the film, because they want to make sure the audience is ready and feeling safe to return to the theatres.
Interestingly, the wait could turn out to be costlier for Universal Studios, as on its new date, Jurassic World may compete with an untitled Disney/20th Century Studios movie. That said, it will certainly be a good day for cinema lovers.
Jurassic: World Dominion is directed by Colin Trevorrow and stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jeff Goldblum, Sam Neill and Laura Dern, among others.
