Attacking the Narendra Modi-led BJP government and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that over the last 6 years, there has been a systematic attack on elected institutions and free press that hold the nation together.
Addressing students at VOC College in Tamil Nadu’s Thoothukudi the Gandhi scion said that democracy doesn’t die with a bang, it dies slowly. He further accused the RSS of destroying the institutional balance.
Using the ‘Hum do Hamare do’ jibe aimed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi again, Rahul accused him of promoting “crony capitalism”.
“Question isn’t whether PM is useful or useless. Question is who is he useful to? PM is extremely useful to 2 people i.e. ‘Hum do Humare Do’, who are using him to increase their wealth and useless to the poor,” said Rahul Gandhi.
