Surat. Death toll due to COVID-19 touched 678 in Surat city with 10 patients losing the battle against the virus on Saturday. 226 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Surat on Saturday, taking the total number of cases to 15588. 252 patients suffering from COVID19 were discharged from hospitals on Saturday. 11710 patients have been discharged from hospital till date.

37 years old male from Althan in Athwa zone died due to COVID19 at Apple Hospital on Saturday. 86 years old man from Gopipura in Central zone died due to COVID19 at New Civil Hospital (NCH) on Thursday. 40 years old male from Vadod in Udhna zone died due to COVID19 at New Civil Hospital (NCH) on Saturday. 74 years old man from Nanpura in Central zone died due to COVID19 at Green Life Hospital on Saturday.

36 years old male from Godadra in Limbayat zone died due to COVID19 at SMIMER Hospital on Saturday. 62 years old female from Pandesara in Udhna zone died due to COVID-19 at Lokhat Hospital on Saturday.

Surat Municipal Commissioner Banchanidhi Pani said that 182 cases have been registered in Surat city on Saturday including 16 cases in Katargam zone, 14 cases in Central zone, 11 cases in Limbayat zone, 16 cases in Varachha B zone, 19 cases in Varachha A zone, 26 cases in Rander zone, 26 cases in Udhna zone and 54 cases in Athwa zone.

Pani added that 31177 persons are in Home Quarantine, while no person is in government facility quarantine. 2533 teams of Surat Municipal Corporation conducted a survey in 305007 homes and 878113 people.
