Covid-19 outbreak in the state has now eased a bit, according to figures released by the government. Situation in some areas have improved, especially in the state’s metropolises and cities. Beds have become available in hospitals and ambulance lines in front of hospitals have also been reduced. This may be considered news of relief but on the other hand the transition of Corona to the villages has become uncontrollable. Villages in Saurashtra in particular have raised concerns.
On the one hand, there is a declining trend of corona virus cases in the state, on the other hand, corona outbreaks are on the rise in the villages of Saurashtra. In Saurashtra, 2,900 new cases were reported in a single day. Corona positive cases have tripled in the villages of Saurashtra. 395 positive cases were reported in rural Rajkot, 100 in Upleta, 70 in Dhoraji and 95 in Jetpur.
Mortality due to corona is also very high in villages. This is mainly because the villagers are not getting proper facilities and are dying before they can be treated. Apart from this, no testing and tracing is being done in the villages. Government claims are different from the reality. On the other hand, the lack of awareness among the villagers has also increased the spread of corona.
