BJP appoints C R Paatil Gujarat President

Surat : The Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday appointed Member of Parliament Chandrakant R Paatil as president of Gujarat. Mr Paatil, a third-term MP from Navsari in Gujarat, Navsari lawmaker replaces Jitendra Vaghani Paatil has won the Navsari Lower House seat won by a margin of more than five lakh votes. Besides pitching for the development of Surat International Airport, Chandrakant Paatil has transformed Chikhli village, in Navsari district of Gujarat, within 1.5-year of adopting under Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana to enhance its social, cultural, and infrastructural standard. As part of the Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana, India’s Members of Parliament of all political parties had to adopt one village from their constituency and develop it into it a model village by 2016. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had earlier selected 65 year old Patil to manage the development work of his Lok Sabha constituency Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh.
