 ACB nabs two accused for accepting bribes of Rs 40,000

Two accused named Parikshitbhai S / O Prakashbhai Chaudhary, Horticulture Officer, Class-II, Office of the Deputy Director of Horticulture, Vyara and Narendra alias Nandu Bhilabhai Gamit, (private person) have been detained by ACBA for a further investigation.

They were accused of accepting bribe amount of Rs.40,000 on Thursday and were caught in Tapi district.

The father and friend of the plaintiff in this case had applied for construction of a packing house on their farm which is subsidized by the government at the rate of 50% of the cost of construction of the packing house. Accused officer demanded a total bribe of Rs. 50,000 and after negotiations finally agreed for Rs. 40,000. Narendra Gamit, the other accused helped the officer by collecting the bribe amount from the decided location.

Both the above accused have been detained by the ACBA and further action has been taken.

VA Desai, Inspector of Police, Tapi ACB. Po.Ste. and other ACB. Staff members which include Supervision Officer, NP Gohil, Assistant Director, ACB Surat Unit, Surat were the officers involved in catching the accused parties.
