Silvassa. 24 persons were tested positive for COVID-19 in Dadra & Nagar Haveli (D&NH) on Tuesday. According to the administration, D&NH has 218 active cases, while 663 patients have been discharged from the hospitals till date. Three COVID19 patients have been migrated to other states, while one patient has died due to coronavirus.

11 patients tested positive are ILI (Influenza Like Illness) patients, while seven patients were identified during random screening. Six patients are contacts of COVID-19 patients. 19 patients recovered from the disease on Monday. 18 Containment Zones were added on Tuesday.

There are 230 Containment Zones in D&NH. This includes Bhandari ni Chawl at Demni Road in Dadra, Jayesh ni Chawl in Tighra, Padmavati Vihar in Silvassa, Balaji Township at Amli in Silvassa, Vikas Complex at Tokarkhada in Silvassa, Greenwood Apartment at Kilvani Naka, Triupati Nagar at Tokarkhada, Mahendra ni Chawl at Mori Falia in Naroli, Opposite Ramayan Complex at Samarvarni, Prakash ni Chawl at Bhurkund Falia, Mohan ni Chawl at Bhasta Falia, Shashav ni Chawl at School Falia in Baldevi, Mukesh ni Chawl at Karad, Jayesh ni Chawl at Athal, Narsingh ni Chawl and Nilesh in Chawl at Bavisa Faliya, Pramukh Vihar Phase 1, Tower Four in Silvassa, Suresh ni Chawl at Dadra, Manjula Bhavan in Naroli, Babu ni Chawl in Dapada, two private houses and Sai Dham Complex at Amli in Silvassa.

District administration said that it has taken a number of precautionary, timely and proactive steps to prevent spread of COVID19 in Dadra & Nagar Haveli (D&NH). Administration has formed teams of many departments to work in urban and rural areas.

District Panchayat is disinfecting chawls, shops and individual houses in every panchayat of D&NH and it has also made people aware of COVID19. Under IEC, district panchayat has advised people to stay in their homes. Masks and sanitizers have also been provided to the people. The Team of Excise Department is also working vigorously to contain the spread of the virus.

Hefty screening is being done at all entry and exit points of Dadra & Nagar Haveli (D&NH) to prevent spread of COVID19. The control room at No. 1077 / 0260-2412500 has been activated 24×7 under the efforts of the District Administration of D&NH to share information related to COVID19. Relief kits are being distributed among the needy on behalf of the administration.
